Science game with Water .

We should keep trying something new and off the hook, which is not been done or tried before. So today going a little away from technology we will peep into a little scientific stuff. Today i'll tell you How to instantly turn water into ice by trying 'Supercooling'.
'Supercooling' is when you chill a liquid below its freezing point without it becoming solid. Try this amazing trick by following Mark's simple step-by-step instructions.

Things you'll need:

  • Two 1 litre bottles of water (deionised water for car batteries works best, but you could use filtered water)
  • A thermometer (optional)
  • A clear mixing bowl
  • Two buckets
  • 8kg of ice cubes
  • 3kg of table salt
  • Towel

How to do it:

The experiment can sometimes fail if a bottle is knocked by accident. You can increase your chances of success by putting two bottles of deionised water in each bucket.
1.
Place a bottle of deionised water into a bucket and pack 3kg of ice around the base of the bottle. Leave a few ice cubes aside in the freezer, to use later. Pour 1.5kg of salt over the ice and top up with water until it fills the bucket to the level of the bottle's lid. Repeat the process with the second bucket and bottle.
2.
Do not disturb your bottles while they are cooling, as the smallest knock can start the ice crystallisation process. Carefully check the temperature of the water using a thermometer. You need to wait for it to cool down to -8C. This process will take around 30 minutes.
3.
Carefully take one of your bottles out of its bucket and check it is still liquid water. Place it on the table.
4.
Take the ice cubes you set aside and place into a mixing bowl. Now gently unscrew the top of your water bottle and slowly pour onto the ice cubes. Watch in amazement as the water turns instantly into ice!
5.
Now carefully lift out the other bottle of water from its ice bucket. Gently wipe it over with a towel. Then, holding it firmly by the lid, give it a sharp tap on the table. You should soon see ice begin to form at the top of the bottle and 'creep' downwards.

Why doesn't the water freeze at 0C?

Ice cold water in bottleWater tends to freeze at 0C but there needs to be a 'nucleus' around which the crystalline structure of ice can form. So filtered water can be chilled well below this as there are no impurities for ice crystals to form around, unlike normal water.
In this experiment, the ice cubes in the bowl, and the bubbles that form when you tap the bottle, act as the 'nucleus' to kick-start crystallisation.

Why does adding salt to ice water make it get colder?

When water and ice are mixed together some molecules of ice are melting and some of the water molecules are freezing.
When the temperature reaches 0C the two processes balance each other out in what is known as dynamic equilibrium.
However, salt upsets this balance. This is because salt dissolves in water but can't interact with ice.
The salt molecules start to replace the water molecules so there are fewer water molecules freezing compared to the number of ice molecules melting.
The water cools down below 0C so more molecules will freeze to achieve balance once again. The more salt you add, the colder the icy water gets.

Microsoft Surface RT a failure..!!

If you are wondering to find a store near you, then you are at very right place. Find store here--

http://content.microsoftstore.com/en-US/Home.aspx

You have to enter your postal/zip code, and all the near by stores will appear.

JUST FOR THE RECORD, you know that the SURFACE RT has faced an epic failure. The credit may go to the confusing name and as well the OS.
It's ironic that apps — one of the areas that x86-versions of Windows have dominated the competition — is one of the biggest problems facing the Surface RT.
In short: There aren't enough apps built for Surface RT available within the Windows Store. The60,000 apps available in the Windows 8 store pale in comparison to the ~400,000 iPad specific apps in the App Store.
Its toatally a disaster to get RT if you are able to spend a few more buck s to buy PRO version. Why wouldn't anyone go for the better alternative.
Meanwhile, Microsoft isn't the only player in the Windows 8 tablet space. Asus, Samsung and Lenovo all have their own Windows 8 tablet or convertible notebooks at various price points.
The Post PC world is certainly upon us. The problem is, it doesn't seem to include room for the Microsoft Surface.

Cydia For iOS

About Cydia---

Cydia is an alternative to Apple's App Store for "jailbroken" devices, at this time including iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches, specializing in the distribution of all that is not an "app".Cydia is not available in Apple's App Store, nor is it a website: it is installed on your device using a "jailbreaking" tool, such as evasi0n or redsn0w.

Cydia  is a software application for iOS that enables a user to find and install software packages on jailbroken iOS Apple devices such as the iPhone. It also refers to digital distribution platform for software on iOS accessed through Cydia software. Some of the software packages available through Cydia are free, and some require purchasing.
Cydia is developed by Jay Freeman (also called "Saurik") and his company, SaurikIT. The name "Cydia" is an allusion to the Codling Moth, with a scientific name of Cydia pomonella, which is the proverbial "worm in the apple.

Purpose And Function---

Cydia provides a graphical user interface to jailbroken users using Advanced Packaging Tool (APT) repositories to install software unavailable on the App Store. Cydia is based on APT, ported to iOS as part of Freeman's Telesphoreo project.
Software packages are downloaded directly to an iOS device, to the same location as Apple's pre-installed applications, the /Applications directory. Jailbroken devices can also still buy and download apps normally from the official App Store.
Cydia can be installed during the process of jailbreaking an iOS device. Some Jailbreaking tools (each of them supporting a specific set of devices and iOS versions) install Cydia automatically, while others provide a choice to the user.

Softwares Available Throgh Cydia---

Some of the packages available through Cydia are standard applications, while some packages are extensions and modifications for the iOS interface and for apps in the iOS ecosystem. Cydia enables users to find and install open source packages as well as purchase modifications for jailbroken iPhones. These modifications are based on a framework called MobileSubstrate which makes it relatively easy to install and update said modifications.
In March 2009, Tuaw announced that Cydia store is open. The announcement summarized an experience posted by a website that Amazon payments was the only option available.

Top Android Apps That You Will Love

Here are the some Must-have Android apps for newbies and enthusiasts alike.--

1.Pocket
Let’s say you find a long article on the web — something you need at least 10 minutes to read — but you’re at work or otherwise too busy to read it all right away. Just install the Pocket extension or bookmarklet in your browser, and you can save the story for your lunch break. Pocket’s Android app formats web pages in a clean, booklike view, and it stores content off-line so you can still catch up on reading in a dead zone
.

2.Flipboard

Flipboard is like a personalized miniature magazine for Internet content. It takes stories from around the web and reformats them into little pages of text and images, so you can flip through by swiping up and down. You can also plug in your Twitter or Facebook profiles, and Flipboard will pull the links that people share into the mix — along with the occasional tweet or timeline post.

3.MightyText
Want to make iPhone owners jealous? Tell them about how you can send and receive all your text messages right from your laptop or desktop web browser. To make it happen, install the MightyText app on your phone, then set up the web app on your computer.

4.Pulse News
Pulse News is a great way to scan through the headlines and find the stories you want to read. Just pick the news sources you want — or use the built-in suggestions — and you’ll get a scrolling view of thumbnail images and story snippets. The app also has a widget, so you can glance at your favorite news sources from your phone’s home screen.

5.Stitcher Radio
Why settle for one talk-radio source when you can choose from thousands? Stitcher brings together live stations, recorded talk-radio shows and podcasts from around the web into a single app and lets you create custom stations based on your favorites. Plus, it doesn’t get all weird around power lines the way AM radio does.

6.Fandango Movies
Fandango is one of a few apps for movie listings, trailers and ticket purchases, but its simple interface and clean design leave it a cut above the rest.

7.ConvertPad
ConvertPad isn’t the prettiest unit-conversion app around, but it’s free, and it’s loaded with pretty much everything, from weight and distance to energy flux and radiation absorbed dose. It does currency conversions as well and keeps itself up to date on exchange rates. You can also customize which categories you want to see, just in case viscosity and capacitance aren’t things you’ll be converting anytime soon.

8.Shazam
You hear a song you like. You don’t know who plays it. You open Shazam and press the big button, and a few seconds later, the app tells you the title, the artist, the album and even the lyrics. It’s basically the embodiment of what mobile apps are all about.

9.ESPN ScoreCenter
Fiddle with other sports-score apps if you like, but ESPN’s ScoreCenter has the most polished interface of them all, along with a home screen widget to keep you updated on your favorite teams. The app also has convenient links to online Gamecasts if you want to keep up with every play.

10.Yelp
With all due respect to Google+ Local, there’s still nothing better than Yelp when you want to find a nearby restaurant, barber shop, auto mechanic, dry cleaner and so on. Peruse the user reviews or swipe to the bottom of each listing for helpful information about ambiance, suggested attire and the parking situation. You can even use filters to see only what’s open right now.
